How frequent is unusual?
Frequent urination is the term that people use when they have to go to the washroom more often than usual.
But how frequent is unusual then?
Generally, most people urinate six to seven times in 24 hours, even though more often than this may be referred to as frequency. However, it may not mean incontinence.
Urinary frequency is different from urinary incontinence.
Urinary Frequency: Needing to visit the washroom to urinate more often. It could simply because you drink too much fluid or health problems.
Urinary Incontinence: The loss of bladder control. It is when a person cannot prevent urine from leaking out.
Generally, urination is a complex process. The frequency differs from one person to another.
Also, there are many possibilities that may cause more fluid intake or more regular urges to urinate. Some could be just a habit. Some could fall in another spectrum - a signal of health problem.
Despite all, once you think that your urinary frequency is affecting your quality of life, it is best to seek advice from a doctor.
